Janet Dayton Obituary
Dayton
Janet Elizabeth Dayton, age 67, of Dellroy, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 after a heroic battle with cancer. Born in Canton, Ohio on March 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Eileen Stimmel. She was a member of the Wellspring Assembly in Massillon and enjoyed Bluegrass and Gospel Music and as her hobby she enjoyed bowling. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Joan Dayton. Survivors include her husband, Harry M. Dayton of the home in Dellroy; her son, Archie Cornett of Malvern; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Tina Dayton of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jeff Miller of Dellroy; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta Dayton Merrill and Hippy of Dellroy; three grandchildren, Crystal Merrill, Chasity Stanton and Michael Merrill; two brothers; a sister; and special cousin, Juanita Rice of Minerva. Memorial services will be conducted Friday, August 24, 2007 at 7 p.m. in the Wellspring Assembly, 3855 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon with Pastor Steve Todd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Friday from 6-7 p.m. The REED FUNERAL HOME CANTON CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements. Linda always had a cheerful outlook , no matter how bad things would get. We will miss talking to her and will always remember the good times at Bluegrass with her and her husband .

I did not know Janet personally but through friends of hers submitting her name to our prayer chain many times, I learned to care for this one who while suffering, still held on to her faith. God had other plans for Janet...I am sure she is with Jesus now and doesn't want us feeling sorry for her. My condolences to the family...Barb Karas

Janet will forever have a special place in my heart. She was one person I could talk to about anything and never felt like she was being judgmental. Our shopping trips and lunches out were so much fun. Her Christian witness right up to her death was a true show of her faith and confidence in Jesus Christ. I will always miss having her in my life. But her memory will remain in my heart forever; and Wellspring Assembly and Harvey's will never be the same.
