John "Jack" R. Bertsch, age 78, of Shaker Heights, entered into eternal life on December 23, 2007. Beloved husband of 52 years to Patricia A. (nee Masline); loving father of Michael J. (wife, Linda), James R. (wife, Martina), Donald W. (wife, Valerie), John P. (wife, Laura), Margaret B. Currier (husband, Joseph), Therese B. Blumenthal (husband, Alan), Mary P. Roscoe (husband, Gregory), Robert M. (fiancee, Ava) and William R. (wife, Lauren); Devoted grandpa of Dave, Mary, Evan, Lisa, Rebecca, Tricia, Claire, Grace, Vivienne, Raymond, Matthew, Marcus and Jack; brother of Charles G. and the following deceased, Richard M., William A. and Margaret H. Reynolds; stepson of Helen G. Bertsch. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday at Gesu Church. Friends may call at The Fioritto Funeral Home, 5236 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst (East of Richmond Rd.) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday only. The family suggest memorial gifts to Detroit Province of the Society of Jesus, Attn: Development, 7303 W. 7 Mile Rd., Detroit, MI 48221 or The Gathering Place, 23300 Commerce Park, Cleveland, OH 44122.
