John Novak Obituary
age 66, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton on Nov. 3, 1946 to the late, Robert and Ann Novak and was a 1964 graduate of Timken High School. John was employed with the Timken Company as a bearing grinder for 43 years, retiring in 2009. He was a baseball and softball umpire and a referee for soccer games for many years. John will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite Robart. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Debra Novak; two sons, Jason R. (Adele Funk) Novak of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Ryan J. (Kari) Novak of Medina, Ohio; three sisters, Zita (Carl) Duckworth, Karen (Richard) Fernandes and Roberta Nitzu; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert L. and Ruth I. Page; brothers-in-law, Robert L. (Diane) Page Jr. and Michael A. Page; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St. Louisville, OH 44641. Funeral services will be Friday at 7 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. John was one of my best friends growing up in the SE neighborhood of Canton. Great sense of humor and all around nice guy. My sympathy to his family.
