Passed away at 2:30 p.m. April 30, 2009, at Aultman Hospital following
a brief illness. The son of Ignatz and Mary (Jenei) Bara, Joseph was born on March 8, 1926 in Bolton, Ohio. He was a member of Alliance High School Class of 1944. A Veteran of the Second World War, Mr. Bara was a glider pilot in Company L, 325th Glider Infantry, 13th Division of the 82nd Airborne serving in France. Joseph was a contractor for over 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Sebring First United Presbyterian Church, Life Member of the 13th Airborne Division Association, American Legion Post 166 and the 82nd Airborne Division Association. Joseph was a devoted caregiver to his wife June, and a generous and loving father. Mr. Bara is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, E. June (Strain) Bara; a son, Mark Randall Bara, daughter-in-law, Michele Susan Bara and his twin sons Brian Scott Bara and Craig Stephen Bara. Other survivors include two granddaughters: Devon Dawn Bara and Erin Lisa Walker; a brother, Andrew Bara; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Joseph was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Bara; two sisters, Mrs. John (Susan Helen) Varga, and Mrs. Glenn (Rose Lee) Rhoads; and two brothers, Ignatz Bara Jr. and Steven Michael Bara. Services will be held on Monday (TODAY) May 4, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, 126 West Vermont Avenue, Sebring, Ohio 44672 with Tom Palmer officitating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Bara family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Alliance Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice, 855 South Sawburg Road Alliance Ohio 44601.
