Lester Goss Obituary

Lester Edward Goss
83, of Bonita Spring, Fla., used up the last of his nine lives and passed on May 29, 2014. Born in Canton, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1930, to the late Charles and Hazel Goss. He was raised in Canton and was a lifelong Canton McKinley Bulldogs fan even though he never actually attended high school. He served his country in the Army as a medic during the Korean War. He later moved to Louisville, Ohio with his wife of 58 years Kitty (nee Georgoulis) Goss, where they raised their two children. Les was at one time a professional bowler with multiple 300 games and was a co-owner of Trio Lanes. He is best known for his career in the auto industry that would span more than 40 years. He first served as general manager for several Canton dealerships before the couple ventured out on their own in opening T-P Traders. Ultimately recognizing the trend in vehicle financing, his expertise enabled him to establish a highly successful business in providing reconditioning and disposition services for off-lease cars on behalf of national banks. Upon retirement he and Kitty moved to Bonita Springs, Fla., enjoying warm weather, golf and the Highland Woods community. He was known for his keen wit, sharp sense of humor and loved a good argument with family and friends. Les' companionship will be truly missed by those who knew him and those who loved him.
He is survived by his patient and loving wife of 58 years, Kitty (nee Georgoulis); his loyal sister, Marlene (nee Goss) Boni; his children: Terri Goss Kinzy and Pat Goss of whom he was very proud and constantly handing out their business cards and their spouses Scott Kinzy and Mimi Goss; many nieces and nephews; but especially his personal nursing expert, Sherrie (nee Boni) Bearden; and his cherished grandchildren: Kate and Alan Kinzy and Sarah, Ben and Robbie Goss.
Private interment will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Rather than mourning his death, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Highland Woods Country Club for the many friends, family and neighbors who cheered his sprits with cards, calls, visits and email during his valiant fight with cancer. Remembrances can be made in his name to The Wounded Warrior Project:

Kitty, Terri, Pat, and children, My thoughts are with you and I will always keep Les in my heart. The wonderful memories of all the good times we had together when you kids were growing up will never be forgotten. There was always a lot of laughter when we were with your Father and Mother, he had a marvelous wit and a great sense of humor. His loyalty to his friends and family, as well as his thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity forged an enduring, lifelong friendship. He was a very special man. May he rest in peace.
With Love and Friendship, Suzi
