Linda Smer Obituary
Age 78 of Massillon, passed away on December 14, 2020 in Ashland, Ohio due to complications from Covid-19 after a brief illness. Linda was born in Massillon on November 28, 1942 to Andrew and Susan (Sedjo) Bednar. She graduated from Washington High School and worked at Massillon Community Hospital for 20 years in the cafeteria. Linda loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful Nana.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Smer in 2003; daughter, Debbie Abdelqader; and six siblings. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Jennifer) Smer, Jr., and Rick (Jodi) Smer; grandchildren, Eric Smer, Corey Smer, Heather Smer, Marcus Hunt, Cassie (Jerod) Smer-Scheetz, Christopher (Taylor) Smer, and Mona Younis and spouse; great-grandchildren, Raelyn Smer, Josie Smer, and Noor Younis; sisters, Nancy (Dave) Miller, and Betty Hattery; sisters-in-law, Pat Smer and Shirley Bednar; and multiple nieces and nephews.
