Louise Scassa Obituary

Louise Scassa

93, of Brewster, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 at her home. She was born in Italy on April 22, 1928 to the late Andrew and Louise Manello and came to the United States at age 12. She graduated from Brewster High School and married Lorenzo Scassa on July 7, 1951. He died April 26, 2008. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brewster. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.

She is survived by children, Janet (Joseph) Medure and Andrew (Linda) Scassa; grandson, Christopher (Crystal) Scassa; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and Edo Manello and her twin brother, Silvio Manello.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Therese Campus in Brewster. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
