Major and I were classmates at Sandy Valley and he graciously stood next to me at our 45th reunion for a photo that I display and treasure. Charming, gracious, and humble are how I remember him. I was awed by what he had accomplished in life. Please know that I will keep him and you, his family, in my prayers.

Dear family members of Major,
My heart was saddened when I learned of Major's passing. He was a great guy not only on the basketball floor but as a classmate & friend as well. I'm so glad he came to our 45th Class Reunion in 2010 and we were all able to share fond memories. He'll always be remembered as a gentle, caring person. God bless each of you!

I was deeply saddened when I heard of Major's passing. What a wonderful, caring, positive influence. Major was a wonderful person to be around with a humble spirit and a huge heart. You don't get a chance to meet many great people in life and I've had the pleasure of knowing this one. My deepest condolences go out to his family at this time.

My prayers to Major's family. I was at Blackburn College with him. Major was a teammate, a leader, and, most of all, a friend. He was older than most of his teammates, and he taught us about life. He helped us mature. Although time and distance have separated us, there are still several of us around Illinois. When we get together, talking about "Glory Days," Major's name is always mentioned first.
To his family, that most of us have never met, may it offer you some comfort to know Major was well respected and well loved at Blackburn.
