Mary Rutledge Obituary

Mary Jane Cullen Slates Rutledge
94 of Kilgore, Ohio died Feb. 5, 2015 at her home of 74 years after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 28, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio, the youngest child of Harry Cullen and Mary J. Wilson Cullen. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1938.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her fist husband, Donald 'Peanut' Slates, who died Feb. 14, 1970, her son, Ronald Lee Slates, who died Feb. 5, 1988, three brothers, George Cullen, Robert Cullen, Harry Cullen, Jr., a sister Madelene Moreland, and an infant sister. She is survived by her husband, William 'Grant' Rutledge of Kilgore, who she married on July 13, 1973, three grandchildren, Michael Slates of Massillon, Steve (Wendy) Slates of Sherrodsville, Sandy (Kevin) Kohler of Minerva, four great-grandsons, Ryan Kohler of Dover, Brent Kohler of Minerva, Shane Slates of Sherrodsville, Brandon Slates of Sherrodsville, and a great–granddaughter, Carlie Slates of Massillon.
Calling hours for Mary will be Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday Feb. 10, 2015 at 2p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kilgore Cemetery.
