Mary Stroia Obituary
Age 92, of North Canton, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 20th, at the Manor Care Nursing Home. Mary was born in Canton, on August 22, 1916, the daughter of the late John and Elena (Costea) Roska. A member of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral of Canton, and Sf. Maria Ladies Auxillary of the church, and the American Red Cross Canton Chapter.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil N. Stroia Sr., died October 23, 1997, a daughter, Nancy Symeonides, and two brothers, John and Dr. Charles Roska.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Dianne (James) Johnson of Elyria; a son, Virgil (Bonnie) Stroia Jr. of North Canton; 13 Grandchildren; and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral, Monday at 10am with Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean officiating. Friends may call Sunday, from 3-5pm in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home where a Saracusta service will be held at 4:30 pm. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Family requests contributions be made to her church, St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral.

I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was a big part of my life as a child when my family spent a lot of time with the Stroia family. In past years I would occassionaly see her at the grocery store or run into her somewhere else and enjoyed talking with her. She was a lovely lady who loved her family and enjoyed talking about them. She was very proud of all of you.
