I would like to thank everyone who have supported us with thoughts and prayers. It has been hard to come to terms with our loss. He has taught me so much and I try to live by his standards yet He was wise beyond his years even as a child. He worried so much about his family and friends and I feel him watching over us still. Love and miss you Matt. Mom and Dad

After two years, we all still miss Matt and always will be waiting to see him when it is our time. While it doesn't make any sense, it is somehow part of God's plan. Until then we will take care of and love each other. Rest in peace Matt.....hugs to heaven.

Dear Georege,Sandy,George,Mandy and all who loved Matt,
It has been some time since anyone has wrote in Matts guest book but trust me he has not been nor will ever be forgotten by those who knew Matt, I cant imagine what you guys are going threw i know i still get choked up when i think or talk about Matt. When I see Georege, and George in mass some sundays i cant help but shed a tear everytime I see them, it breaks my heart to know that they wont have Matt in their lives anymore. Matt is always in my thoughts and prayers as are you and the whole Maxin family, and all his friends.

George, Sandy, George, Mandy, and all who love Matt,
My husband, Guy, and I have decided to maintain this guestbook permanantly in Matts' memory. We were blessed enough to have spent his last day with him. Matt & Julie spent the night at our house the evening before the accident. My sister,Loraine & I spent the day with them and we had a wonderful time in Napa, CA. Guy & I really grew to respect and care for Matt. I know it seems unlikely( we only knew him for 24 hours) but he was an intellegent, fun person and so full of love. My daughter, Annette, played chess with him and really enjoyed thier time together. Our prayers will continue to be with your family and for Matt, I KNOW he is in heaven with God.

George, Sandy and George,
It was the most wonderful experience to have Matt in our lives. We grew to love him and were hoping he would be joining our family. The love that he and Mandy shared made it seem very probable and we could not have been happier. He was a joy to have around and thoughts of him always bring a smile to our faces. We miss him and love him and continue to pray for peace for all of your family, his friends and for ourselves in this time of grief. Rich, Dorene and Natalie Kordal

Everyone that ever met Matt knew what an amazing person he was. I was lucky enough to have Matt as my best freind. He was always there for me and was always the person I turned to when I needed someone to talk to. He always knew what to say and could make me feel better. Always kind and the easiest person to ever get along with. I'm lost without him and will always miss and love him.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Maxin family, his loving girlfriend, and the hundreds of friends he had to leave. I still can't believe he is gone. But, I've been blessed to see how many pieces of him are all around us. It seems as though he touched everyone he met in some way. This doesn't surprise me, as Matt was a blessing to us in the PTA program. During the most stressful times, he'd always be able to crack a smile on our faces. I think I speak for everyone when I say, we couldn't have done it without him. We will all cherish the memories.
Take care,

Hey,
I know that I have told your family this so many times, but I just wanted to tell you again that matt was the most important person in my life. I feel so lucky that I got to really be in love, and know what it feels like to be loved. He was not just the love of my life, but he was my best friend. He always knew how to make me feel better and we could just sit and talk to eachother for hours. There was no one in the world I would rather be around. I miss him so much I feel like I can't even breathe sometimes. I love you guys so much and I am so sorry.

Aunt Sandy, Uncle George & Georgie
Matt (and Georgie) are like brothers to me. The "latch-key kids" grew up into fine young men. When I found out I couldn't grasp the reality before us. A flame so great, a star so bright, a face always glowing with love and constant laughter, gone. After telling Sean and Ryan of our families loss, I was told, by them, that he is not really gone but with God and the angels, watching over us with the other "family" members in Heaven. Sean and Ryan said they would miss Matt playing with the "kids" but would keep him in their hearts until they can see him again. That evening, I swear I could here his unmistakable laughter in the wind and his endless smile in the serene solitude of sunset. We shared alot of time together as kids and I learned alot from him. Everyone dies...however, few really live. Matt lived his dreams to the fullest and every day as if there was no time to waste. Spreading love, kindness, and compassion everywhere he went and with everyone he met. God keep him safe in his new journey and someday we will all see you again! You are loved, and forever in our hearts. Good bye to my little "ET" buddy and Godspeed to you.

Dear Sandy, George and Georgie,
Although we don't have as many memories as some...the ones we have, have left deep impacts. Matt was one of the kindest, most caring ppl we've known. I enjoyed talks with him and Lori has tender memories when she babysat him. Everyone here has felt so saddened over this. We send our deepest love and prayers for you all. Just knowing Matt, has been a blessing for all of us. May the Lord give you grace and strength....we love you,

Words cannot express how we feel about the loss of Matt. Over the years he brightened our lives in many ways. He was such a good friend to Zach, always so polite and respectful to us, enjoyed playing guitars with John and talking music. When we think of Matt a smile automatically appears. So many great memories. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope they helped light your pathway! We will love and miss you until we meet again! Love, Aunt Paulette and Uncle Mike

Matt was an amazing cousin. Watching him grow up into the free spirit he was made me so very proud. I will always remember and cherish all the times he and Georgie spent at our house while growing up. We are blessed with so many memories from Friday night Dominoes pizza, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and video games. It is a true testiment of your life when I read all of the many states and cities represented here. You touched so many lives and were loved by so many. The love shared by family is so often left unspoken, but always there. You meant the world to me, as do all my aunts, uncles and cousins. While I can't understand why you are gone, I will look forward to seeing you again someday. Until then, we will be there for your family and Mandy too. Love and Prayers to you Matt.

Dear Sandy,
I cannot begin to understand the heartache you must be going through at this time.
I only knew Matt for a brief time, but in that time it was very apparent that God blessed this world with a “Spark of light and life” in the form of your son, Matt. That “spark” has now fanned into flame and spreads through those that knew and loved him and those fires are never put out. We spoke for a long time about things that were important him and his candor and honest desire to search truth out were quite refreshing and astounding for one his age. He did not seem to desire wealth, status or power, but to do things for others. He said he wanted to travel for a time and then maybe open a coffee shop of his own. For someone to make that kind of impression so quickly and so completely attests to a soul of compassion kindness, and true caring for all others around him, and I’m sure I’m not telling you something you do not already know.
May God bless you and your family for providing the love and nurturing home environment that helped make him the man that he was and the continuing flame that he is.
I pray for God’s peace, mercy and grace in all of your lives.
