Matthew McClellan Obituary
Matthew W. McClellan, age 23 of Canton, died Saturday morning February 16, 2008 at Aultman Hospital following a long and courageous battle. He was born December 25, 1984 in Canton and resided in this area his entire life. Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother Evelyn (Hedden) Haggerty; his maternal great-grandfather Troy Hedden, and paternal great-grandparents Hollis and Pearlean Terry. He is survived by his mother and step-father Pamela and Jeffrey Amatangelo; half brother Cory Amatangelo all of the residence; maternal grandparents Ann and Ted Terry of Cornelia, GA; paternal step-grandparents Roger and Carole Amatangelo of Canton; his aunt and uncle Penni and Kurt Cerwinsky of Minerva; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Village Baptist Temple in North Canton with his step-great-grandfather pastor Jack Haggerty officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday (Tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the Welch Sekeres Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family in Matthew's memory.

I had the pleasure of helping to take care of Matthew for a very short time. He was so very special, you could not help but fall in love with him. His smile warmed you, and his laugher made you smile. The world was lucky to have him....and he was lucky to have his mom. I do not think I have every seen such a dedicated, loving mother. She was always there for him...they had a special bond that one could feel anytime they were in the same room together. Matthew adored her! She took such great care of him, and still managed to be a wonderful wife to Jeff and mother to Cory. Her love for her family was always evident. Pam my heart goes out to you. There is nothing I can say that will take away the pain you must be feeling right now, but someday, you will be able to think of him, his smile, his love and his laughter and will be able to smile. You are an amazing person, and if there is anything I can do to help you, please give me a call.
