As first Director/Coach of the NWA Hawks Youth Football team, I was privileged to have two of the Stark boys on my team. (At my old age, I'm not sure of the names... possibly David and Michael???) I soon found out that they were "Chips off the Old Blocks," after I also enlisted their mom and dad to help with organization, fund-raising, equipment management, assist coaching, etc. The entire Stark family were phenomenal, but Mike was always someone special to the organization and to me personally. We remained lifetime friends and I will miss him. My condolences to the surviving members of the Michael Stark family.

I was privileged & honored to have known both Mike & his wife Mary through my working at the Akron Zoo, and was glad to call them dear friends. Mike was a wonderful man, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and there wasn't anyone who loved the zoo much more than he did.
He will be very much missed by everyone who knew & loved him.
Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Mike was an incredible supporter of the Greater Akron Community and especially of the Akron Zoo. I feel privileged to have worked along side him for these past 20 years. His leadership as a past board chairman was only outshined by his bright, friendly demeanor, and his ability to provide mentorship to others naturally. I always appreciated Mike's passion about Akron Zoo's mission to educate children and save wildlife. My deepest sympathies to his wife Mary, and to his son's and their families. There are many thoughts and prayers, coming your way. With love and hugs, Doug and Kimberly Piekarz
