PATRICIA GOFFUS Obituary
age 82, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Mother, wife, friend to all who met her. She ended this journey on this earth. She has paid the price, she suffers no more. We know she is going to a better place. A place she prepared for her whole life. And she left quite a legacy, she touched so many. She is going to heaven, as ALL mothers do, as they all deserve. Ever the nurturer, and although she could not leave her chair, she befriended "Bobby" in the nursing home thinking he was a young man that needed her care, not understanding that his actual name was Bill and he was a 56 year old resident. God bless her, and all that have preceded her in death. We don't ask for prayers for our mother as her prayers have been answered. Instead, pray for yourselves, and all of us. And show compassion for those less fortunate. It's something desperately needed. She was born March 18, 1936 in Canton, Ohio, to the late Elias and Julia (David) George. Pat was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a former member of the Lebanese/American Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Goffus in 1996; and two brothers, David and Larry George. Pat is survived by two daughters, Laura (George) Deitrick, Suzan (William) Stringer; four sons: Daniel (Becky), Russell, Steven (Theresa) and Andrew (Carole) Goffus; a sister, Connie (John) Howington; a brother, Robert George; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Although our mother loved flowers, roses in particular, the family asks that donations be made instead to Alzheimer's research. We wish to thank the kind and caring staff of St. Joseph Senior Living for their kind and compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. Louis Catholic Church, in Louisville, with Fr. Robert Miller as celebrant. Calling hours will 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home. Pat will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisville, OH. Online condolences may be left at:
