Paul Laubscher Obituary

Paul W. Laubscher, Sr.
Paul W. Laubscher, Sr., 83, of Brewster, died Monday, September 25, 2006, at Brewster Parke following an extended illness. He was born in Denison, IA on June 15, 1923 to Albert and Dolly (Malone) Laubscher and had lived most of his life in Brewster. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired in 1983 from the Norfolk and Western Railroad in Brewster. After retirement he worked for Brewster Dairy. He was a member of the Brewster United Methodist Church, Brewster American Legion, and a former member of the Brewster Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ethel (Miller) Laubscher; a son, Paul (Ellen) Laubscher, Jr. of North Canton; granddaughters, Anjeanette Cowell of Charlotte, NC, and Jessica and Hallie Laubscher, both of North Canton; two great-grandsons, Mitchell and Matthew Cowell; two brothers, Lewis (Miriam) Laubscher of Sugarcreek and Robert (Ruth) Laubscher of Mercer, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin and a stepbrother, Clayton Hied. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with Pastor Joe Wright officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek with military honors. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home or one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brewster Fire Department or to the Brewster United Methodist Church.
