Richard Delagrange Obituary
Delagrange
Richard Dana Delagrange, age 71, of Hartville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning June 12, 2007 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. Born in Barberton, Ohio on June 8, 1936 to the late Charles Floyd and Esther (Muir) Delagrange, he graduated from Fremont Ross High School. After attending Ohio State University he completed the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy. He retired in 1988 from the Ohio State Highway Patrol after serving at the Lisbon, Massillon and Sandusky Posts. A member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, he also was a member of New Lisbon Masonic Lodge and of The N.R.A. An avid golfer, hunter and fisherman, Richard enjoyed woodworking and was a sports fanatic. He especially loved his grandchildren. Survived by his wife of 48 years Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Melissa Delagrange of Hartville; daughter, Vicky Delagrange of East Sparta; three grandchildren, Ryan, Robbie and Dayna; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Catherine Delagrange of Lancaster, PA, and Eugene Delagrange of Fremont, OH; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother James. Calling hours are Thursday 6-9 P.M. and Friday 10-11 A.M. at the Arnold Funeral Home. Funeral services are Friday 11 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Tobin Crenshaw officiating. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartville Church of the Brethren, PO Box 775, Hartville 44632.

Dear Carol, Ricky and Vicki. We are so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Mom and Dad as all of us in the Cocklin clan cherished the times we shared together. I have a picture of Dad, Smiley and Dick that they sent when I was in Viet Nam. All of them laughing at the our kitchen table.
Some great memories with all of you that we will remember.

To the Delagrange family,
I had the experience of meeting Trooper Delagrange on several occasions as a local dump truck driver.I was always treated fairtly by a dedicated State Trooper who was a true credit to the OHP.I was deeply saddened when I heard about the accident at Wooster and prayed for his recovery.I always thought he was a good and honest'Good Old Boy'.I know Dick is next to God but I hope they are not telling the weigh bear where the heavy trucks are.

Carol, Ricky & Vicky...I was so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I remember playing at your house when I was a child & all the fun we had. You're in my thoughts & prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I can remember Dick coming to the baseball games for Ryan & Robbie, always with a smile on his face and say "Hi Tyler's mom" everytime he saw me. He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.

Stark County Juvenile Court.His service to the community will never be
