Richard Langbein Obituary

Richard E. Langbein
Age 77, of Massillon, went Home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2015. He was born March 3, 1938, to the late Raymond and Vera Langbein.
Richard worked for the Timken Company in the bearing department for 26 years before retiring in 2000. Richard enjoyed bowling and trains, and also volunteered his time at the Veteran's wall in Clinton, Ohio. He was passionate about his family and friends and loved woodworking. He was very gifted at carpentry and was the go to man for anything that needed repaired. Many went to him for repair help because there is nothing he could not do and no one in need that he would not help. He liked to stay active and would ride his bike up to 30 miles a day. He also worked out at Aultman North for 15 years where he was known as the 'social butterfly.' Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Rose; son, Johnny; and sisters, Barb Powell and Beverly Burris.
He is survived by his sons, Richard and Mike; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Lou; grandchildren, Joshua and Samantha; great-granddaughter, Zoey; brother, Jim (Darla); sister, Betty Roush; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 5-8 p.m., with the funeral service on Friday, June 12th. at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Marsh, Dr. Grossman, and the entire staff at Aultman Compassionate Care. Those wishing to share their condolences may do so at:

I have known Richard since we were young children. He was a very nice child, as I remember. His Parents were my God-parents, so, more like cousins. Love to the Family.

To one of the most loving, caring and compassionate man that a person can meet. I'm very humbled and proud to be your son-in law. Thank you for all of your help over the years with many things. Thank you for taking care of the family after mom had went home with Jesus. You did a outstanding job holding the family together during a very hard time. Dad, enjoy being with mom and all of your family and friends in heaven. Most of all, enjoy being with the Lord. I love and miss you very much. I'll see you and mom again when the Lord takes me home. Have a great time in heaven. Love Lou

What a great dad you had. We met Rich through my brother who is Richs neighbor. Went to dinner with him a couple of times and hung out with him when we went to visit my brother. He took us to Canal Fulton to see his work at his beloved veterans memorial. Beautiful serene place. Have been back several times. He is at peace now and with his beloved Rose. He will be greatly missed. Dale and Sherrie Reedy Ackerman
