Wilbur H. Steineck Jr. 1928-2016
87, of Uniontown, passed away on May 20, 2016. He was born Nov. 28, 1928 in Cleveland to the late Wilbur Sr. and Margaret Steineck. Wilbur was a longtime member of the YMCA and a longtime member of Grace United Church of Christ in Uniontown. He enjoyed gardening as a young boy and was in the bakery business all his life. Wilbur retired from Nickles Bakery and was the former owner/operator of the Uniontown and Mineral City Steineck's Bakery and Jr. Steineck Bakery.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; and brother, Donald. He is survived by his children, Lori Ann (Christopher) Monsewicz of Hartville, Patti Jo (David) Diehl of Tippecanoe, Mark Alan (Meredith) Steineck; and grandchildren, Corey Joel and Kathryn Ann Monsewicz.

He was a great swimmer and a friend to everyone at the Y. I'll miss all his famous sayings, such as "They let you out of jail!?"

I really enjoyed talking to Wilbur at the North Canton YMCA over the past 15 years, when he was able to be there. He had a lot of good words of wisdom! I missed seeing him and tried to stay in touch by phone. I think he was getting tired the past few months. Was sad to see he passed. May he rest in peace.
