Bonnie Seidelmann Obituary

Bonnie Lee Seidelmann of Arnold, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025 at Luminis Health in Annapolis, Maryland, formerly Anne Arundel Medical Center, as a result of respiratory failure after a courageous six-month struggle with stroke recovery. Born on March 29, 1945 in Annapolis, Maryland, Bonnie was the second of four daughters of the late Harry W. and Clarice M. Reechel. Bonnie was a friend to many - growing up in Arnold, Maryland, graduating from Severna Park High School in 1963, and working in and around Annapolis for most of her career. Her first job was at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade and her last job was with the Annapolis Boat Shows. In between, she worked at Corbin, Heller, Warfield, Schaffer, and Meredith Law Firm in Severna Park, Protocol Business Staffing and Sunrise in New Jersey. Her lively personality was a magnet which drew people to her and created enduring friendships. Bonnie was an excellent athlete. As a young girl, she and her sisters would play softball with the neighborhood boys. Bonnie was always among the first picked for one of the teams. When at Severna Park High School, Bonnie was a cheerleader on both the JV and the Varsity squads. She later taught Aerobic Dancing with Jackie Sorensen's program at the YWCA in Severna Park, participating in several charitable Dance-a-thons. She was instrumental in establishing the Annapolis 10-Miler as one of the seven original runners. Bonnie took part in many road race challenges from 5K races to half marathons. She also enjoyed playing tennis and later in life picked up the game of golf. Bonnie loved gardening, boating, and cooking - making the best Maryland crab cakes around! Bonnie lived her religion as evidenced by her dedication and devotion to her family, loyalty to her friends, and compassion for those in need...which included stray cats and dogs. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved second husband Joseph Robert "Bob" Seidelmann, her first husband and father of their children Herbert Oliver "Herbie" Phillips, Jr., her sister Lorraine Alt and brother-in-law Paul McCoy. Bonnie is survived by her children: Michael Ward Phillips (Diana) of Arnold, MD, Andrea Lynn Harford (Dave) of Dunkirk, MD, and Herbert Oliver Phillips III (Maria) of San Diego, CA; stepchildren: Karen Bowles (Richard) of NJ, Sharon Moorhouse (David) of FL, Rob Seidelmann (Becky) of NJ; 12 grandchildren: Grayson Michael Phillips, Michael Owen Phillips, Madelyn Reechel Cihocki, Hannah May Cihocki, Edward Joseph Cihocki, Jordan Harford, Haley Harford, Kyla Nicole Phillips, Oliver William Phillips, Brett Bowles, Davey Moorhouse, and Kaylie Moorhouse; sisters: Muriel McCoy, Sharon Daniels (Chris); nieces and nephews: Kevin McCoy, Brooke Fernon (Ben), Alexandra Daniels (Kevin), Pat Daniels (Kitty), Lindsay Alt and Amy King (Craig). A celebration of Bonnie's life will be on held on Thursday, June 19th at one of Bonnie's favorite Annapolis restaurants, Carrol's Creek Cafe located at 410 Severn Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403. The gathering will commence at 11:00 AM with a brief memorial service, followed by a reception featuring a light fare menu. During the reception, the family will receive friends and loved ones to share remembrances and fellowship. To assist with planning and ensuring proper accommodations, kindly RSVP to Michael Phillips at [email protected]. Please include your name, the number of attendees, and a contact email address. To the reader: My grandmother was one of the founding members of the Severna Park fun runners that later started the Annapolis Ten Mile Mile Run that has been run now for 49 years! Below is a picture for the first fun runners that started Annapolis tradition.
