Carol A. Laney

Carol A. Laney (nee Duvall), 70, of Sykesville, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD. She was born June 2, 1951, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late LeRoy F. Duvall and the late Elizabeth Duvall (nee Rhodes). She was raised in Glen Burnie, MD and was one of four children. Carol enjoyed crafts, interior decorating, cool cars, music from the 50's-70's, Southern Pennsylvania, car rides and traveling. She was a member of the Wisdom Club and the Historical Society of Carroll County. Carol was very active in the Catholic Church and was a member at St. John's Catholic Church in Westminster, MD. Her favorite activity was playing with and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol is survived by her former husband Butch (Mel) Laney. Devoted mother of Michael Laney & wife Michelle, Christina Gill & husband Chad, Ryan Laney & wife Melissa, Joseph Laney & wife Shannon and Jasen Laney. Loving grandmother of Anna, Hannah, Jeffrey, Grant, Emmie, Brynnie, Josie, Madison, Aubrey, Easton, and Nolan. Also survived by her brother and sisters. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Winfield, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School). Funeral Mass will be said on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11 AM at St. John's Catholic Church 43 Monroe St, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment at CrestLawn Memorial Gardens.
