Carrie Ann Kiewitt

1971 - 2021

Carrie Ann Kiewitt, 49, of Annapolis, passed away October 1st at Anne Arundel Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born in Milwaukee, she was raised in Arnold. Carrie was a graduate of Broadneck High School, Roanoke College and earned a master's degree in US History from The University of Richmond. She possessed an amazing body of knowledge in Colonial and Civil War history. She was a Vice President at Historic Annapolis and was a beloved and respected leader in the preservation community for over 20 years. Carrie's leadership and dedication was recognized by the Four Rivers Heritage Area's Heritage Profession of the Year Award in 2020. She was also on the Board of Directors for Visit Annapolis. Carrie was a Smithsonian Associate Member, a member of several professional and historic organizations, Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church and Chi Omega Sorority. Carrie was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Helen Snyder and Preston and Evelyn Kiewitt, all of Indianapolis, IN, two uncles and two aunts. Carrie is survived by her parents Donald and Margaret (Maggie) Kiewitt of Arnold, brother Greg (Lisa) Kiewitt of Glen Burnie and brother Kyle Kiewitt of Annapolis, nephew, Stephen (Rachel) Kiewitt of Millersville and great-niece Ava Kiewitt. Also survived by an aunt, an uncle, five cousins and extended family. Visitation will be on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, 21146. Visitation and service on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 starting at 2pm at the William Paca House and Gardens, 186 Prince George's Street, Annapolis.
