Debra Keahon Klar, 67, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 in Johns Hopkins Hospital after a valiant battle with a long illness. Born in Rockville Centre, N.Y., she attended Sacred Heart Academy (high school) in Hempstead, N.Y. and SUNY/Cortland before marrying her childhood sweetheart and moving to Maryland in 1974. A resident of Annapolis, Debby graduated with honors (B.A. - Elementary Education) from Towson State College in 1976. A most beloved kindergarten and first grade teacher at Sacred Heart School of Glyndon, she taught there for almost 15 years. Witty, smart, and caring, her home reflected her impeccable taste, where she loved bringing people together with wonderful meals in a cozy and joyful environment. Debby loved to read, travel, and enjoyed family vacations at the beach, especially in Hilton Head, S.C. However, her children and grandchildren were the source of her greatest joy and pride. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Gregory Klar; daughter Heather; son Michael, his wife Anne and their three children Elijah, Elizabeth, and Josephine. Survivors also include siblings Susan Fusaro (Gene), Peter Keahon (Stephanie), Constance Tabacchi (Alan), sister-in-law Anne Fornoro (Drew); and three nieces, three grandnieces and two grandnephews. Respects may be paid to the family at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis on Monday, Oct. 25 from 1 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude's
