Douglas's most recent position as an Electrical System Integration Team Lead for the Navy's Gerald R. Ford class aircraft carriers included integration of the Electromagnetic Launch and other Navy Electrical systems and ensured shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility. He was preceded in death by his father in 2007. I am sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Doug in Annapolis for eight years. In that time, Doug and I became the best of friends and I will cherish those memories forever. Doug was one of the most genuine and kind people that I've ever met. Doug and I shared the same sense of humor and I can't even begin to tell you the laughs we shared over those years and, as others in the guest book have said, the memories of his smile and laughter will always be there for us. My deepest sympathy to the family, God Bless.

Too early to have lost such a nice guy! Although it had been more than thirty years not seeing Doug, I know that his smile and positive attitude is what I'll remember about my fellow Panther football teammate.

I'm so sorry to have happened upon this obituary! I remember your family very well from growing up in Saltworks. Ann was in my grade and Doug was always the guy pushing our sleds down the Marina hill! Interesting that my parents now live in Suntree, just down the street from where Doug's mom now lives! Small world. My heart goes out to your family during this time.

Mrs. Jakubowski,

I worked with Doug in Annapolis, Philadelphia, and briefly in Washington. He always had a kind word and a great laugh, and I consider it to have been a priviledge to know Doug.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
