Frank A. Halgas

Frank A. Halgas, 64, a 38-year resident of Pasadena and formerly of Pittsburgh, died March 21 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Williamsburg, Pa., to the late Frank and Helen (Polnar) Halgas. Mr. Halgas graduated from Trafford High School, outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. He also graduated from Pennsylvania Technical Institute and University of Maryland.

He served four years in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he worked at Westinghouse where he helped to secure several patents. He invented an engine monitoring and analysis device and a method to constantly monitor tire pressure. He started and ran Micro Lambda, an electronics firm located in Pasadena.

He was an active member and past president of the Pasadena Business Association. He also worked with Anne Arundel County politicians for community improvements.

Mr. Halgas had many interests in life including wine-making, candle-making, sailing and sailboat racing, bird-watching, skiing, music, dancing and cooking.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bernard F. Halgas.

He is survived by his sister, Rosemarie Nowacki and her husband Michael of Colorado; his niece, Melissa Halgas of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and ex-wife, Gloria Harrison of Pasadena.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Interment is private.

Frank was an extremely good friend to me and I'll never forget his kindness, caring and gentle ways. I'm sorry this is so late, but I just heard of his passing. Frank was a good, good, gentle man and I will truely miss him.

So sorry to hear about Frankie. He was my neighbor, good childhood friend, and classmate through high school graduation. As young children, we would go in the woods to turtle hunt, in winter build snow forts, have snowball battles, and sled ride. Very good memories from growing up together. My sympathy to his Family.
