It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Mr Mole. He was one of the great "Neighborhood Dads" on Millstream Drive in the 1960's and 70's. His yard was always packed full of children and not just his own six, but the rest of the neighborhood kids too. I can't remember him calling me anything but his nickname for me "Boccigalupe". May God eternal rest unto his soul and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Sorry to hear of Howell's passing. He was an old friend from Capitol Hill as a childhood playmate..., a Metro DC cop..., an advertising sales associate..., my insurance and real estate salesman who sold me my house..., and a "Good Friend" and advisor. Nice to have known you..., Buddy !!

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Howel Mole – one of modern Bowie's original pioneer residents – back when everyone in town knew everyone else! My family was acquaintances of Mr. Mole for the past 50+ years. I ran into him at Aldi a few months ago. I was amazed how sharp his memory was mentioning to me about my childhood dog “Bugle the beagle”, and the time my mother tried to make dandelion wine from the weeds in our front yard on Stem Lane. On behalf of the City of Bowie, I thank Mr. Mole and the Mole family for 53+ years as taxpayers helping to make Bowie the City it is today.
