James McQueeney

James Michael McQueeney, 75, of Shady Side, Maryland, passed away on October 3, 2016. He was preceded in death by three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Claudia; two sons, Ryan and his wife Jen of Edgewater, MD and their children, Madison, Molly, Masey; and Chris and his wife Sara of Edgewater MD, and their child, Ryley; his brother, John and his wife Nancy of Derry, NH; devoted caregivers, Linda and Bob Barber; and many other relatives and friends. In 1963, James traveled from Lawrence, Mass., to become a D.C. Policeman, and retired 20 years later. He also worked at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). James was called "Opa" by his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He loved living by the water and enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 1-4 pm, at Herrington Harbor South, 7151 Lake Shore Drive, North Beach, MD, 20714.
