John was a great person, it was a privilege to know him and work with him. My deepest sympathy.

My most sincere sympathies are extended to Laura, the entire Soderberg family and many friends who are also saddened by his sudden passing. I worked with John in the District of Columbia Office of Contracting and Procurement both as a colleague and subordinate. His vast experience and expert negotiation skills were instrumental in bringing about significant cost savings and operational improvements in the health and rehabilitation outcomes for inmates in the Department of Corrections. I didn't know him as the courageous war hero that he also was, but I knew him to be a very kind, generous and compassionate gentleman who will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. I am proud to have known John and to call him Friend. Well done. Rest in peace, at Ease, Soldier.
