Joyce Christine Wright

Joyce Christine Wright, 85, passed away at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Severna Park on December 25, 2018.
Joyce was born to her parents, Benjamin and Marie Brown on November 20, 1933 in Annapolis, MD and was raised in Eastport. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1951 and married Robert L. Wright in 1962. She traveled with her husband who was in the navy to many locations, eventually returning to the Annapolis area in 1971. In addition to being a homemaker, Joyce was employed with the State of Maryland in the Central Payroll Office. She was a member of the Magothy Chelsea Community Lutheran Church in Pasadena, the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and was a grateful member of the Al-Anon program. Joyce enjoyed cross stitch and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian L. Brouillard, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Brown, her sister Mary Elizabeth Tippett, and her two sons, William and James T. Wright.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 6-8pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, 21146. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial is to follow to the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Magothy Chelsea Community Lutheran Church, 265 Beach Ave, Pasadena, MD, 21122.
