Kathleen Buck Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Conn Buck, who departed this life on November 25, 2025, in Charlotte, NC at the age of 91. Kathleen was born in Brooklyn, NYC and spent her childhood growing up in Montclair, NJ. She lived the majority of her adult life in Maryland after moving there with her husband and children in 1966. She is survived by her sons Peter (Susan) and Steven (Linda) and daughter Diana (Michael), grandchildren Cliff (Kim), Tim (Callie), Ian (Ashley), and Katie (Brad), Stephanie (Jim), Christina, eleven great grandchildren, sisters Doris Wyble and Eleanor Skillman, as well as countless friends and extended family who will deeply miss her presence. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel C Buck, and parents Robert and Christina Conn. Throughout her life, Kathy touched the lives of many with her compassion and dedication. She was a tenacious, loyal and steadfast daughter of Scottish immigrants, who took great pride in her ancestry and cultural heritage. She delayed her formal education until her children were in school and worked hard to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Baltimore, graduating summa cum laude at the age of 48. She was a member of the Beta Alpha Honor Society. Kathleen passed her CPA exam at the first sitting, which surprised no one. She promptly went to work for the accounting firm Davis, Tankersley and Wolf where she worked until retirement. She was a long-time member of Harundale Presbyterian Church in Glen Burnie, MD, serving on the Session and as a Deacon, as a Stephen Minister, as well as assisting with annual audits due to her accounting expertise. She also served several years as treasurer on the board of directors of the Enclave at Ellicott Hills, where she lived in a condominium for 19 years. She was an avid collector of owls, a symbol of wisdom which suited her perfectly. She loved reading, especially John Grisham novels, as well as knitting and puzzles. She was excellent at Sudoku. We will forever remember Kathleen for her strength, love, and the joy she brought to our lives. She is dearly missed but her legacy and memory will live on in our hearts and minds.
