Lewis Calisti Jr.

1946 - 2024

Lewis Joseph Calisti, Jr., known to many as Lew, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Arnold, Maryland, at the age of 77. He was born on July 22, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA. Lew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Lew was a true friend to everyone he met, embodying warmth and kindness. He moved to Arnold, MD in 1997, where he made a lasting impact in his community and those around him. In his educational pursuits, Lew became an Eagle Scout with three Palms and graduated from Penn Joint High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in International Business Administration from Point Park University. He received a Project Management certification from George Washington University. During his military service from 1967 to 1972, Lew served in the Army Reserve, demonstrating his dedication to his country. Throughout his career, Lew worked at Westinghouse Electric and Verizon, where he made significant contributions in his field. In his free time, Lew enjoyed hunting, gardening, golfing, coaching and umpiring. After his retirement, he enjoyed lapidary, driving a school bus, watching the Steelers and traveling. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lew is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Calisti, 55 years of marriage, his daughters Nicole Calisti and Marisa Wittlinger (Mark), his grandchildren Cole and Keira Wittlinger, his sister Cheryl DeMarchi (William), and his brother Keith Calisti (Debra). He was preceded in death by his mother Helena Calisti, his father Lewis Calisti, Sr., and his brother Gregory Calisti (Geraldine). A celebration of life is being planned on July 20 to honor Lew's memory with friends and family. May his legacy of kindness and love live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
