Lynette Maureen Card, 54, a 12 year resident of Annapolis, died at her home on January 7, 2010, of kidney cancer following a 1 year illness. She was born on July 28, 1955, in San Diego, Calif.
Maureen received her associate's degree in theatre arts from Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. She was a floral designer with several florists in the area, most recently with Flower Follies in Edge-water. She was an instructor in Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. She was an active sister in the Annapolis Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a board member of the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre.
Maureen was the beloved wife of Phillip Card, whom she married on October 26, 1978; mother of Bryan L. Card of Monterey, Calif., Benjamin L. Card of Washington, D.C., Russell L. Card of Fort Drum, N.Y. and Megan Lynette Poulos of Arnold; sister of Thomas McCurdy of Layton, Utah and Frank "Mac" McCurdy of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter of Gail and Joyce McCurdy of Mountain Green, Utah; she is also survived by one grandson, Evan Lucas Card.
Friends are invited to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Annapolis Ward, 1875 Ritchie Hwy., Annapolis, on Saturday, January 9, from 1:30 p.m. until the time the funeral service begins at 3:00 p.m. Interment is private.
