Marsha Murphy Obituary

Marsha "Marcy" Louisa Murphy of Stevensville passed away on December 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 61. Born on December 17, 1953 in Annapolis, MD to the late Charles Lester and Bernice Ediger Owen, she grew up in the Annapolis area and graduated from Annapolis High School class of 1971. She would then attend AACC and earn her Associates Degree before attending Towson University where she earned her MS in Early Childhood Education. Marcy worked as an educator with St. Martin's Lutheran School for 12 years before she became the director of the Caroline Center Day Care in Ridgely, MD. Marcy also worked as an adjunct teacher at AACC until she retired due to disability. She then went to work caring for others in their home as a home care professional with Home Instead. Marcy was a member of Christ Church in the choir, and dedicated her time weekly to the food bank committee, "Lord's Pantry". She volunteered at Christ Church where she was known as Ms. Bingergarden, and loved reading to the children. Marcy is survived by her loving wife whom she married on August 28, 1976, Beverly Murphy of Stevensville, MD; daughter Jennifer Mullins (Eli) of Grasonville, MD; son Patrick O. Murphy (Liz) of Annapolis, MD, brother Charles L. Owen (Becky) of Portland, OR, and her 4 grandchildren, Jonathan M. Mullins, Christopher O. Mullins, Elijah E. Mullins, and Logan A. Mullins.
