Thoughts and prayers are with the Pipkin family - so sorry for your loss. I just found about about this today, hence apologies for delays in sending over some thoughts and words. I had the opportunity to see Matt a few times at sporting events, since our time together at Western Maryland College. He was always just the same as he was in college - had a smile on his face, always enthusiastic - excited to talk about his family, his home town of Annapolis - one of his favorite places. His love of Jimmy Buffet (he sang at Jimmy Buffet tune at our wedding), his comradery, his friendship and his consistent and unabiding enthusiasm will always reside as a fond memory in my heart. Rest in Peace my friend.

Just logged onto Facebook after taking a Lenten break only to find this heartbreaking news. I miss you, Matt. Always gregarious with that deep, hearty laugh, that's how I will remember you.

Was very saddened to hear of Matt's passing! He was always a friendly face back in HS, never had a cross-word to say about anyone and whenever I was back in Annapolis to visit, if I ran into him was interested in how I was doing.
Condolences to his family, (especially his wife and 3 children); 49 is way to young.

It is difficult putting words into sentences that can adequately express how much having Matt Pipken as a friend has meant to me. We met when our oldest boys were in first grade at St. Marys. Matt was kind, caring, giving and unbelievably loyal. We enjoyed being with each others family, had many good times together and created wonderful memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Pipken Family.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Matt's passing. I got to know Matt pretty well when we served together on our communities board of directors. He always was a joy to work with and brought much knowledge to solving some of our most difficult problems. He was a neighbor and a friend. I will miss him. Carl Radespiel

Matt was one of my closest friends and he will be missed. We met in 1st grade and kept our friendship going ever since, playing football and lacrosse together, having a lot of fun times, attending each others' weddings, and spending time with our own children. Some of the best things about Matt were that he always let you know that he loved you and he always had a big smile and great sense of humor. My entire family is sending our prayers to Matt's wife, children, and family during this difficult time.

Matt loved life! HE LOVED HIS FAMILY! He was most proud when he would talk about Matty's football at college or Monkey Boy running around with his puppy's. And he was so proud of his beautiful daughter. Matt missed his Mom every single day since she passed. And he loved for his dad to come have lunch with him at the bank. He was my friend, he had his faults, but he was one of the finest men I ever met. Moving forward there will always be a hole in my life where Matt is supposed to be. Thank you for being my friend Matt!

Stephanie, you were loved so deeply, I do hope you know Matt loved you with all his heart.

My memories of Matt from high school are all of how wonderfully warm, funny and kind he was. Such a pleasure to have seen Matt over the years since teaching at St. Mary's HS. Getting to know Steph, as well as teaching Matt Jr. and Katherine (who was my elder daughter's friend and classmate) was a very unique and special honor. I will miss his kind and gentle presence, but will be reminded of him when In the presence of his beautiful family.
Prayers for peace and comfort to you, dear ones. Xx

I wish I had more eloquent words....my boys, Tad, Sean and Liam Sheehy have such fond memories of Coach Pipkin.

Great, empathic human being, a classic catholic man in the best of traditions, and an excellent family man. Talented banker with charisma who will be sorely missed.

A real lose to those who knew him and society in general.
