Michael Whittles

Michael Whittles, 58, a 28-year resident of Severna Park, died June 7 at his home, after an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on November 11, 1953 in Washington, D.C., to Jim and Marion Whittles, Mike graduated from Good Counsel High School in Wheaton. Since 1975, Mike has been the president of Servpro of Annapolis. He was honored with the Annapolis Touchdown Club Coach of the Year and Baltimore Ravens Coach of the Year awards. A member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, Mike also enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife, Diane Whittles, whom he married on June 13, 1986; two sons, Michael Whittles of Conway, SC, and Nicholas Whittles of Severna Park; a daughter, Jessica Whittles-Goedeke, a son-in-law, Chris Goedeke and a grandson, Michael Goedeke, all of Lothian.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., on Thursday, June 14, at the Archbishop Spalding High School Gymnasium, 8080 New Cut Rd., Severn. A reception will immediately follow in the school cafeteria.
The family has requested that memorial gifts be directed to the Mike Whittles Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Please make checks payable to The Johns Hopkins University with a memo indicating that this gift is for the Mike Whittles Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, and mail to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 100 North Charles Street, Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.
