Nancy Eileen Comstock Snyder of Crofton, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2025, at her beloved cabin in Deep Creek Lake, MD, at the age of 62. She was born on April 15, 1963, in
Annapolis, MD, and raised in Severna Park, MD, until she met the love of her life, Mark Walter Snyder. Early in their marriage, Mark whisked her away to Germany during his service with the U.S. Air Force, beginning a lifetime of adventure and devotion. When Nancy married Mark, she lovingly embraced his three children: Pete, Jill, and Kevin. They continued to grow their family, welcoming four more children throughout their marriage and various deployments: Chuck, Tommy, Mindy, and Miranda. Nancy adored her children deeply and prioritized them above all else. Second only to her devotion to her family was her immense love for animals. Over the years, she loved her furry companions to include: Sasha, Taffy, Tasha, Sophie, Bella, Millie, Winnie, Holly, and Banx. Her generous heart was unmistakable to everyone who knew her. From her deep love of Christmas, to her fondness for bear decorations, to her affection for anything multi-colored, she filled every space with warmth and cheer. Wherever Nancy went, she brought fun, laughter, and joy; her sense of humor was contagious, and her presence could brighten any room. She enjoyed a proud 44-year career with the Department of Defense, serving in both government and contractor roles. A true patriot, she loved her country deeply, from her years as a military spouse to her decades as a dedicated civil servant. In her free time, she loved watching shows with her husband, decorating her home, spoiling her dogs, and supporting her children in everything they pursued, from football games to dance competitions to theater performances. Nancy leaves an irreplaceable hole in the hearts of her family, and she will be missed every single day. There will never be a moment when seeing pastel-colored Yeti cups won't bring a bittersweet smile. If you would like to honor her memory, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any wildlife preservation or animal-related charities in her name.
