Nicholas Cassidy Obituary

Nicholas Anthony "Nick" Cassidy, 22, a 15-year resident of Davidsonville and formerly of Bowie, died on December 15, 2014. Born on May 21, 1992 in Takoma Park, Nick was a 2010 graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School and was starting a career as an electrician. He was a member of Holy Family Church and enjoyed dirt bike riding, bonfires, eating crabs, and spending time with family and friends. Nick was a genuine soul who had the ability of making an unforgettable impression after knowing you for only a few minutes. He was compassionate, humble, humorous and lived his life to the fullest. He walked by faith and set an example of how we all should live each day. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Joy Cassidy. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Anne Cassidy, and his brother, Chris, all of Davidsonville; his grandparents, Joseph and Victoria Navalaney of Dagsboro, DE and Arlene Cassidy of Golden Valley, MN and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to Nick's Life Celebration from 4 to 8pm on Sunday, December 28 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1pm on Monday, December 29. Interment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Davidsonville Wildlife Sanctuary, 3156 Beards Point Road, Davidsonville, MD 21035 or Archbishop Spalding High School, 8080 New Cut Road, Severn, MD 21144. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Cassidy family and friends during this most difficult time. I hope the promise found at 1 Thessalonians 4:13,14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Words can't express the deep sorrow in my heart of Nicholas' passing. Our relationship was at the very beginning of Nick's life. I held him, walked with him, played with him, feed him, laughed with him and watched over him as a baby and a boy. I thank the Lord for the privilege in being part of Nick's life and so proud of the young man he had become. He was loving, kind, fun and most always put a smile on my face - yes there were those times I would have to say boy, oh boy, oh boy but in the charm he possess he melted my heart - now there is a piece of my heart gone but not forever as one day I will see Nick again for all those in Christ Jesus will be together in heaven for eternity - that is the hope we have in Jesus - Jesus broke the power of sin and death. No more sorrow, no more
pain only joy and peace with God - that is something to look forward to.
