Ollie Cotterill Obituary
Edgewater, Maryland - December 21, 2009
Ollie was born July 17, 1920 in Dumas, Texas. She was the daughter of William Thomas and Lora Delphia (Henderson) Mills. Ollie is survived by four children, Hayden Mills Cotterill and his wife Maryann of Northville, MI, Merrilea (Cotterill) Lamborne of Edgewater, MD, Carla (Cotterill) LaFever and her husband Samuel, of Leesburg, VA, Wray Q. Clayton Cotterill and his wife, Kimberly of Santa Rosa, CA, and seven grandchildren, Stephen Cotterill, Jennifer Cotterill, Holli Holmquist, Neil Lamborne, Miles Lamborne, Alex LaFever and Spencer LaFever. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Hayden Cotterill, brothers E. Q. Mills and Clayton Mills and sisters, Claudie Lee (Mills) McFarland and Myrtle (Dooley) Byrd.
Friends may visit at George P. Kalas Funeral Home at 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 27. The funeral service will take place at 4:30 pm on December 27 at Unity by the Bay Church, 836 Ritchie Highway, Suite 18, Severna Park, MD 21146. Burial will be in Waters Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 in lieu of flowers.

My Aunt Ollie Glee was the personification of grace and she had an elegance that was reassuringly casual. Her unequivocal love for her husband and her family was evident to me for as far back as my memories of her go. Reading the brief outline of her life I was reminded of the Texan source of another of her subtleties--that soft Southern accent. It is yet another aspect of her that I will always cherish.
Our hearts and condolences go out to the wonderful family that bears her unmistakeable imprint.

Ollie Glee was such a trooper and she fought courageously for these many years. But we are relieved that she passed so gracefully (we would expect nothing less from her).
These have been and will be trying and stressful times for Merrilea, Carla, Hayden, Wray and their families but, rest assured, that they all have the love and support of their "West Coast" families. We have wonderful memories of your Mom and your Dad.
