KLOPP, PAMELA MILES went to her rest peacefully on March 3, 2014 in Severna Park, Maryland after a fierce, six-month battle with a brain tumor. Born on March 8, 1942 in Syracuse, New York, she was the oldest daughter of the late Herman R. and Alice Fairbanks Miles. She was a graduate of Ilion (N.Y.) High School, attended Elmira College, and graduated from Utica College with a degree in psychology. She earned a Master's degree in 1977 from the University of Wisconsin. For many years, she was a supervisor with Herkimer County Social Services and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Ilion. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Maryland to be close to her best friend and beloved sister Deborah and her family. In her retirement she enjoyed opera classes, line dancing, and day trips with the Arnold Senior Center and The Guild, regular workouts at Sport Fit, and services at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church of Severna Park. She is survived by her sister Deborah Miles Small, brother-in-law James, nephews Thomas and David, and their families; and her brother William R. Miles, sister-in-law Janice, nieces Erika and Melissa, and their families. Arrangements were made by the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. In accordance with her wishes, no services were held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Ilion, Eight 2nd Street, Ilion, NY 13357; Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church of Severna Park, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Severna Park, MD 21146; or the American Cancer Society.
