Pat Waskom Obituary
WASKOM, PAT, of Manassas, Virginia passed away peacefully on February 15 surrounded by three generations of her loving family. She was 94. "Pat" or "Petsy" as she was known was born in New York City. She married her late husband of sixty years, Joseph Robert Waskom Sr in 1937. She moved to Epping Forest near Annapolis MD in 1947 where they raised their seven children. They were very active in Saint Mary's Church and schools. She found great comfort in her Catholic Faith. They later moved to Manassas 1989. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Haeger, her brothers Danny and Ed Dineen, her sister Grace Dineen, cousin Marian McEvoy and son-in-law Ralph "Sonny" McNelis. She is survived by her son Bob Jr of Camino Island, WA, his five sons Bob III (daughter Brittany), Paul (daughters Megan and Molly), Jim (daughter Hannah and son Joe), John and Mike. She is also survived by her son Mike of Wilton CT, his wife Pat and children Keith (Daughter Kailey and son Connor), Tara Cummins (daughter Maggie and son Patrick) and Tobin Bassani (son Marcus). Her daughter Tricia McNelis lives in Manassas and has three children Jimmy, Danny and daughter Michelle Brown (Daughter Kerry and son Tyrus). Pat lived an amazing life. She was often accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses. She would be the first to tell you that the world shone upon her and hers through a rose colored prism. Her family was her life and that life flourished in both size and spirit. To be one of her off-spring was a special gift. To be her friend was to be cherished. A Mass of Christian was held Friday, February 21, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, Virginia with Father Robert C. Cilinski officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Pierce Funeral Home, Manassas, VA.
