Robert Ciepiela Obituary
Robert Ciepiela died in Annapolis, Maryland on Monday, May 18, 2015. Born in South Barre, Massachusetts in 1932, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy at 18, received his Officer's commission in 1962, and retired in 1975 with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He holds a BA degree from Long Island University. While serving at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, USSR from 1957-1959, he met and later wed Carolyn Wood, a member of the Canadian Foreign Service assigned to the Canadian Embassy. After serving on the USS Guadalcanal, he received orders to the Philippines, and then to Panama, where he retired from the Navy. The family returned to the U.S. in 1980 and settled in Richardson, Texas, where Robert was employed with Bank of America. He and Carolyn have lived at BayWoods of Annapolis since 2003. Besides Carolyn, Robert leaves behind daughters, Catherine, Cecilia, and Marie, son-in-law Andrew Kaelin, and grandchildren, Jack Gaughan, Connor Gaughan and Ava Kaelin.

Dear Mrs. Ciepiela, Catherine, Cecilia and Marie,
We are so very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember seeing Bob many times in DC and at Cecilia's wedding in Taos. I thought he was so funny and warm and just had the most amazing stories. Truly. He had a life well-lived. We'll be keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers,
