Robin Pilli

Robin Downes Pilli, 55, of Centreville, died at her home May 9. Born January 6, 1958 in York, PA to Ruth Naomi Boyd and the late, Lester Aaron Downes Jr. , Robin graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in 1975 and received her Bachelor of Science from Salisbury State University in 1979. She worked for USA Telecommunications/Cell One for seven years and then entered the Mortgage Banking Industry. She was employed at Homebuyers Mortgage/Washington Homes, K Hovanian and most recently First Home Mortgage Corp. as a mortgage loan officer. In August 1999 she married Guy Pilli, and they made their home in Centreville on Blue Heron Pond Farm. Robin was named 2010 Associate of the Year for the Bay Area Association of Realtors. She retired from FHMC in May 2010 due to her declining health and her diagnosis with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the blood. Robin was an active member of her church, Centreville United Methodist Church, serving as a Lay Leader and also the Chairperson of the "Volunteer in Missions" team for many years. She was a Board Member of the Queen Anne's County Mental Health Committee and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In addition to her husband, Guy Pilli of Centreville, Robin is survived by her mother, Ruth Boyd of York, PA; brother, Lester A. Downes III of Centreville; four sisters, Joan Shirey and Carol Downes and Licia Lehman, all of York, PA and Bonnie Francis of Centreville; step-daughter, Megan Rose Pilli of Brussells, Belgium; several nieces and nephews, Jim and Lori Shirey, Julie and Christian Thompson and Jody and Greg Friesland and Alex Lehman, all of York, PA, Jesse and Amy Freeman and Jennifer and Mike Klakring, both of Centreville; nine grand nieces, Sara and Kaylee Klakring, Hailey and Taylor Citrone of Centreville, Cortney and Brittney Shirey, Victoria Thompson, Maddie and Ava Slenker of York, PA; and four godchildren, Caroline and Lily Phipps, Savannah Scott and Jennifer Klakring. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at Centreville United Methodist Church, Centreville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday May 15. Interment will be at Chesterfield Cemetery.
