Roland Schrader Obituary

Roland "Jack" G. Schrader, 85, of Glen Burnie, died of esophageal cancer March 11 at his home.
He was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Mehoopany, Pa., to the late Ray A. and Evelyn E. Schrader.
He worked for the Baltimore Sun for 35 years and retired as a driver and dispatcher in 1986. He was a member of Teamsters Local 355, retired. He enjoyed bowling, watching the Orioles, reading, fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Helen E. Schrader; and two brothers, Ralph and Samuel Schrader.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy J. Wood of Crownsville and Pamela J. Ranck of Baltimore; four brothers, Gerwin Schrader of Salisbury, Keith Schrader of Brooklyn Park, Lloyd Schrader of Fla., and Floyd Schrader of Severn; one sister, Alberta Phelps of Odenton; five grandchildren, Troy C., Eric M., and Ryan M. Wood, Christopher M. Welsh, and Jennifer E. LaPointe; and five great-grandchildren, Cody C., Jacob T., and Jordan W. Wood, and Lauren E. and Andrew L. LaPointe.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 15 at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue, S.W., Glen Burnie, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
