Sandra Candella Obituary

Sandra L. Candella, age 85, of Gambrills, MD died peacefully of congestive heart failure on November 27, 2025, in her home, surrounded by family. Born August 5, 1940, in Chicago, IL, Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend to many. Sandra began her nursing career in Chicago in 1960. For over 25 years she cared for patients in a variety of health care settings across six states. She married Joseph P. Candella, III in 1961 and lived life for her family. Sandra has been prominent resident of the Village of Waugh Chapel community in Gambrills since 2002. Sandra is survived by her brother, Fredrick H. Koehler II of Clearwater, FL; three children, Joseph P. Candella, IV of Odenton, Robert A. Candella of Severna Park, and Col (Ret) Gina C. Humble of Gambrills; six beautiful grandchildren: Joey, Christina, Robbie, Andrew, Jacob, and Rachel; and a precious great granddaughter Elaine. The family will receive friends at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis, MD, 21401, on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. A memorial service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served after the service. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Partners in Care Maryland (Anne Arundel County) at partnersincaremd.salsalabs.org/tributedonations/index.html.
