Willie A. Harris

1933 - 2018

Willie A. Harris, 84, a resident of Glen Burnie for 62 years, passed away on June 12, 2018 at Hospice of the Chesapeake. He was born in Hall County, Georgia to the late Curtis and Susie Harris. He honorably served his country in the Army from 1954-1956. He worked at W.R. Grace as a lab tech, retiring after 40 years of service. Willie was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and Tuesday Bible study. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Doris; and sister-in-law, Ethel Harris. Willie is survived by his children, David Gorrick and his wife, Trish, Steven Gorrick and his wife, Linda, Kathy Sexton, Tammie Pittman and her husband, Robert, Vickie Sloan and her husband, Mike; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Alton "Cotton" Harris. He will also be missed by his faithful companion, Pepper. The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, June 17th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.
