Howard Hurt, age 64, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Illinois.
Howard was born on April 17, 1960 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Howard and Sharon (Tinkam) Hurt Sr.
He married Angela Caldwell on January 28, 2006 at the Little Chapel in Middletown, IL.
Mourning his passing are his wife, Angela; children, Christy Ann Hurt, Howard Hurt III, Melissa Hurt (husband Steven), Kaleigh Caldwell (husband Josh), Danielle Caldwell, and Lucas Hurt (wife Elisha); twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Candy (husband David) King, Ralph (wife Becky) Hurt, and Kimberly Ferguson; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Sharon; sister, Sherry Lowman; brother, Virgil Hurt; and father-in-law, David L. Caldwell.
Howard loved to drive his semi-truck. He also enjoyed repairing automobiles.
He especially cherished his time with his children and grandchildren.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Visitation for Howard will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Athens Chrisitan Church. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shane Baker officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
