Rodney Cravens Obituary

Rodney Cravens, 76, of Springfield, died on March 8, 2025, at his home. He was born in Springfield on June 16, 1948, the son of Ira Dale and Helen Cravens. Rodney graduated from Williamsville High School in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2003. As a special note to his daughter, dad says 143! He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cynthia Cravens; brother, Philip Cravens; and former wife, Carol Bortmess. Rodney is survived by his daughter, Kelly Cravens and her husband, Joseph Phy of Albuquerque, NM; and his very best friend, Buddy the dog, now of Albuquerque. Per Rodney's request, no services will be conducted. The family will host a burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society. Kelly, Joe and Buddy, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will definitely miss him and our long conversations and being his tech support. (If ya know what i mean) He is now pain free.
