Mayhlon Satrang, 77, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton, SD. Visitation will be at Feigum Funeral Home, Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5 pm – 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday August 16, 2024 at Lutheran Memorial Church with interment following at Scotty Philip Cemetery in Ft. Pierre, SD. Mayhlon's service will also be available online at www.feigumfh.com.
Mayhlon Satrang was born March 31, 1947 to Marvin and Delores (Johnson) Satrang in Britton, SD. In 1965 he graduated from Britton High School. He married Cheryl Miller on June 12, 1971 and they were blessed with twin girls in 1972. Mayhlon attended the Lions School for the Blind in Sioux Falls, SD in 1974 where he learned valuable life skills. In 1975 the family moved to the Pierre/Ft. Pierre area where they raised their family. Mayhlon ran a coffee shop and vending machine business in various State and Federal buildings starting at the Pierre Airport. From there he ran the coffee shop in the SD DOT (Becker-Hansen) building where he met life long friends.
Mayhlon enjoyed participating in many activities for the blind including, ski for light, beep ball, and goal ball. He could be heard often telling stories of the many hunting and fishing adventures he shared with family and friends.
While in the Pierre area Mayhlon and Cheryl were very active in the Pierre Area Senior Center along with High Pains Wildlife Association.
Mayhlon is survived by his two daughters Kathy (Fred) Braddock of Cresbard, SD and Karen (BJ) Holloway of Rapid City, SD, his granddaughter Janie Hartman (Marcus Mack) of Rapid City, SD, grandson's Brady and Nathan Holloway of Rapid City, great granddaughter Paislee Mack, and his 3 sisters and 2 brothers, his brother and sister-in-laws along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl, his parents, and brother-in-law Tom Shedd.
