Dick Weisgerber Obituary

Dick J Weisgerber got his wings following a short stay at Spirit Mountain hospice house in Cody, Wyoming.

Dick was born in Billings, Montana. His parents Matt and Margaret raised him with a love of farming, ranching, and the outdoors. He had a dream of being a park ranger. That changed when his father passed and he took over the family farm in 1972. With four sisters still in the house, he stepped in and was not just a big brother, but a father figure as well. His sisters can tell story after story of his antics and how he was always there for them.

Dick, a cowboy at heart, struggled with MS for over 50 years. He proved just how strong and stubborn he was by fighting that disease every day, outliving all predictions.

Dick has two daughters, Sami and Kacey, who he loved dearly. He was so proud of his kids and their accomplishments and career choices. "Ranger Sami" a retired educator from Alaska, is now living her dads dream, as a Park Ranger. He was so proud of his daughter Kacey, an educator, for her love of horses and of course his grandchildren, Cooper and Hannah Kosel. His visits and phone calls with his kids were something he always looked forward to. From Sami telling him fishing and hunting stories in Alaska or all the different parks she worked at from Alaska to Utah to Washington. Talking to Kacey about family/local history and the grandkids and their activities. His girls meant the world to him.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Margaret Weisgerber and his wife, Linda.

Dick leaves behind his daughters: Sami King and her partner Christina Koski, Kacey King and her fiancé Charlie Mackay. Grandchildren Cooper Kosel and Hannah Kosel; Sisters: Linda Armstrong, Cheryl Brown (Ross), Teri Herden (Willis), Peg Amtzis (Howie), MaryAnne Washburn (Larry), and many nieces and nephews.
