Ronald Seright Obituary

Ron was born May 12, 1935, on the homestead his family settled in 1892 on Poverty Flat near Joliet, Montana. As a child he attended the one-room Wilsey School on Young Road near Edgar. He later attended Edgar High School, where he played both basketball and football.

After graduation, he joined the military where he served honorably for 2 years. It was during his time in Pennsylvania, he met Margaret Conrad. They married on May 1, 1960, and left Pennsylvania for the adventure of joining his father, Leland on the family farm in Montana.

The Seright farm produced beans, corn, and the famous Seright potatoes, later known as "Farmer Lee's." Buyers could find Farmer Lee's Potatoes in stores in Montana and Wyoming- and of course on the farm itself- where they could buy a one-hundred pound sack for $6!

Ron and Margaret raised their kids, along with numerous nieces and nephews, who happily called the farm "home." He worked hard on the farm, but always had time to play baseball, take week-end hikes, and enjoy pinecone fights in the hills near Joliet with family and friends. For a time, he had fun playing golf with his good friends Gordon Gruel and Dale Sanford.

In addition to being a family man, Ron was a man of faith and a pillar of the Bridger Seventh-Day Adventist church. He was a Christian who led by example, and was accepting and respectful of the faith of others. He was a giving man, always willing to help those in need.

Later in life, Ron enjoyed drives with his nephews, exploring nearly every back road in Carbon County and points beyond. Like his wife "Aunt Mag", he loved children and delighted in making "candy runs" for little ones in the neighborhood. He also especially looked forward to family time with his favorite meal, Friday Night Tacos, hosted at his house. Ron never missed out on other special family meals, especially those prepared by his sister, Joanne.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Ruth, wife Margaret, and sisters Marcella and Donna Lee. He is survived by his sisters, Joanne and Sue (Dave), and his children Karen (Curt), Kevin (Bobbie), Kent (Jackie), and Willie. Ron had four grandchildren- Brennan, Dominique, Taylor, and Sami, and one great-granddaughter, Bridger. He is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, who will also dearly miss his mentorship and company.

Ron and Margaret took me to church many sabbaths. They were instrumental in my becoming a Seventh Day Adventist. They were always so friendly and welcoming. I look forward to the coming day when we shall see our Lord coming in the clouds of Glory and we will see both Ron and Margaret again.
