Virginia Robinson Obituary

Virginia Louise (Gini Lu) Mackay Robinson passed away the evening of October 2nd 2023 in Tampa Florida holding the hands of her two daughters Gabrielle and Sabrina. She will be remembered by friends and family across the country for her courage, indomitable spirit, voice and laughter.

Born in Billings Montana on May 4th 1954 to Pete and Virginia Mackay of the Tophat Ranch outside of Roscoe, she was beloved by her five brothers; Donald, Davey, Dwight, Doug and Daniel. She attended the two-room Roscoe Elementary school and graduated from St. Mary's Boarding School in Minnesota earning from her friends the coveted family name of "Weas." Throughout her life she remained close with many of her childhood friends, adding new one's along the way, and proudly sharing daily "Good morning mother earth," with all of her friends on facebook.

She spent nearly 30 years of her life in Santa Cruz County California where she met her life partner and "Wuz-band" Henry Bruce Robinson who she considered one of her best friends. They loved and were devoted to their two daughters Gabrielle and Sabrina with all their heart and energy. Her last 10 years she spent in Tampa Florida near to her youngest brother Daniel and to fill what she considered the best role of her life, to be grand-mother, to her favorite of all humans Nykolus.

Gini Lu was a talented musician, performer, artist, community organizer, fundraiser, sale-woman, speaker, writer, and all-around inspiring woman, who brought joy and kindness to the world every day of her life. She inspired many of us to live larger, laugh longer, and to love deeper. She will be greatly missed across this country; from the Redwoods of California to the courtyards of New Orleans, from the mountains of Montana to the beaches of Florida. We all weep for the world's loss.

She is survived by Gabrielle Robinson, Sabrina and Chris Di Roma, and their children Ciara Crowley and Nykolus Di Roma. Per her wishes, no memorial will be held however the Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley California, whom she loved and was fiercely dedicated to, has graciously created a music scholarship in her name, and are accepting donations. She also encourages donations, if appropriate, be sent to the American Cancer Society.

My wife and I were two of her teachers at St. Mary´s Hall. We reconnected in Florida about 10 years ago. Her love for life, family, and friends was bountiful and we truly miss her. If you want to get a sense of her we suggest you look at her YouTube music videos and you will get a true sense of this person. Bob & Linda Schissel
